Celebrating National Bloody Mary Day (Every January 1st) and ushering in the new year, select St. Regis Hotels & Resorts worldwide will be offering a Bloody Mary menu with global influences for January. The Bloody Mary cocktail was first born in 1934 at The St. Regis New York’s King Cole Bar as celebrated French barman Fernand Petiot perfected the recipe for a vodka-and-tomato juice cocktail.
The St. Regis properties are paying tribute to the original cocktail and serving up twists to this favorite cocktail worldwide. From wasabi-spiced Bloody Mary at The St. Regis Osaka to the tropical-inspired Bloody Mary at The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort, patrons have the opportunity to taste unique local creations.
Originally christened the “Bloody Mary,” the cocktail was renamed the “Red Snapper,” a name thought to be much more appropriate for the hotel’s elegant clientele. After more than 85 years, the iconic Red Snapper remains the signature St. Regis cocktail. Today, each St. Regis Hotel & Resort worldwide creates its unique version of the iconic cocktail, utilizing local ingredients.
The global Bloody Mary menus will be available at The St. Regis New York, The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort, The St. Regis Washington D.C., The St. Regis Rome, and The St. Regis Florence for January.
